It seems there is a new music festival in town (or just outside) and its name is Brighton Valley Festival. By the look of it, it will run for a week and is based in the lovely setting of Stanmer Park in Falmer.

The line up so far looks a bit like this

• Wednesday, July 5 – Tom Jones
• Friday, July 7 – N-Dubz
• Sunday, July 9 – Nile Rodgers & CHIC

With, I’m guessing, a few more names to be added later. There is no website for it yet but tickets are available here.

If you were lucky enough to catch Tom when he played Chalk a few years ago, you will know he is still a formidable performer, even in his eighties.

Stanmer Park has played home to several festivals in the past. Next to the university and the Amex football stadium it has great transport connections. By that I mean several thousand people trying to get on a train at the same time.
