Later this month (18th to 23rd June) we have the Brighton Book Festival 2024. Founded in 2022, the Brighton Book Festival exists because Afrori Books and The Feminist Bookshop came together to create a new book festival aimed at making the marginalised mainstream. It takes place at Brighton University City Campus, Grand Parade and offers a whole week’s worth of talks and workshops.
Tickets cost £70 (with a 10% discount if you sign up for the newsletter) and get you into (almost) all the events. There are three or four talks a day with topics ranging from food, comedy, and society to the personal. the only thing not included is “Booze & Books with Helen Lederer, Honey Spencer, and Aleesha Hansel” which is an evening of wine and comedy in a bar in Kemptown. The workshops include poetry, a kids’ craft session and an emerging authors showcase.
For more info check out the Brighton Book Club podcast episode where they chat to the organizers.
