If you are in the mood to buy some art, then you could do worse than pop along to the Brighton Dome Corn Exchange this weekend for the Brighton Art Fair. Now in its 20th year, this is a good way to see the art up close and meet the artists in the flesh. Items for sale range from paintings and drawings to sculptures and classy homeware. Years ago we got a print from local artists Graham Carter there.
In 2004 Tutton & Young launched The Brighton Art Fair to help artists sell their work in a professional setting in Brighton, a city lacking galleries at the time. The fair has since become a major annual event, now in its 20th year, attracting artists from across the UK. Over 100 curated booths will showcase contemporary art from 19–22 September 2024 at Brighton Dome Corn Exchange.

The founders, Jon Tutton and Sarah Young, are also behind other craft fairs, including MADE London and MADE Brighton. Young, an acclaimed printmaker, is recognized for her work in various media. The fair partners with local organizations, offering art-related activities like figure drawing classes. Tickets range from £7.50 to £40, with discounts for early bird purchases.
Tutton & Young also run Atelier beside the Sea, an arts space in Brighton, expanding their commitment to supporting artists.
