Here is a new festival for the calendar. Friday the 30th of August sees the first official Brighton Psych Fest 2024 come to town. This is a relation of the Manchester and Edinburgh Psych Fests but has nothing to do with the local Lewes Psych Fest. What is a Psych Fest you ask? Well, generally it is a lot of bands that play Psychedelia and other 60-inspired trippy music. You can probably expect a light show similar to the old Pink Floyd ones and maybe a slight whiff of pot in the air.

Acts confirmed so far include Pigs, Pigs, Pigs, Pigs, Pigs, Pigs, Pigs / The Horrors / Scaler / Das Koolies / Klaus Johann Grobe / Girl and Girl / Paste / EBBB / TTSSFU / Lutalo / The Orchestra (For Now) / NewDad / Juniore / bdrmm / The Bug Club / Divorce / Thus Love / Holly Macve / Molly Payton /GENN / Ladylike / Porchlight / Karma Sheen / Hutch / Plantoid / La Luz.

Judging by the other cities lineups expect lots of obscure indie bands and the odd biggish name. If they asked me I would have Bo Ningen who I once saw supporting Primal Scream at the Dome . Expect lots of feedback and possibly a headache.
